Abstract: | Biometric recognition is continually growing technology with the advent of high precision and low-cost computing devices. The features that are required for the successful creation of biometric recognition systems are the infringement of privacy and security. From the numerous biometric approaches like iris recognition, facial recognition, palm print recognition, fingerprint recognition, and hand geometry, iris recognition has been shown to offer an optimal security with optimal statistical efficiency. If raw biometric templates are used directly in communication or when stored in database, they may lead to various attacks by intruders. Cancelable biometrics is recognized as being one of the emerging approaches to solve this issue. The noninvertible transformation of the template is perhaps the most significant feature of the cancelable template scheme. The notable characteristics of cancelable biometrics are diversity, non-invertibility, reusability and high performance. Remote user authentication is regarded as the much needed security technique for real time applications like financial transactions, border control applications, E-Aadhar, E-Voting, and Internet of Thing based applications and border control applications. Despite many remote user authentication scheme being developed so far there are major issues like computational and communication overhead and mitigating major attacks. Enforcing security in remote user authentication systems is a challenging task than the traditional authentication systems. Validating the security of any proposed authentication system is also much needed in the era of cryptography. The current research focuses on the development of an enhanced cancelable approach and applying it to multi factor remote user authentication mechanism newline |
