Evaluating the Use of Library and Information Centers of State Universities in Rajasthan

Abstract

Rajasthan a state of culture and heritage and known for its history. In Rajasthan, more than seventy-five Universities are present some belong to Government recognized, Central Universities, Deemed and Private Universities. The purpose of the present study was focused on knowledge resource centers and present scenarios. The work was focus on evaluating the usage of library and information centers of State Universities. The descriptive and exploratory study was conducted through observation and interview methods among faculty (professor, associate professor, and assistant professor), library staff, librarianand students. The analysis was performed on various indicators or variables, which are useful parameters in library and knowledge resource centers must be present in Standard University Library so to be evaluated as best resource and contents for higher education among University students and research scholars. The results vary from high, medium to low in percentageand comparable to each other. Some of the libraries are fully automated as compared to others with nominal and minimal resources. These studies will be helpful for further enrichment of knowledge centers in Rajasthan. newline
