Abstract: | Humanity has witnessed several evolutions in fields of technology, research, agriculture, health, education and many other domains. However, the society at large remains deprived of overall upliftment till date. Further, several strata of societal population in need, either is conveniently ignored or partially considered by the dominant lamina of the same society. It is in this context that the social entrepreneurship hit the nail in the right place with the precise vision of superimposing social mission upon entrepreneurship to serve unattended societal problems. newlineDuring the course of literature review on social entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial ecosystems, it was observed that the number of conventional enterprises (fully profit-oriented) far exceeded that of social enterprises. Though Bengaluru is termed as the Silicon Valley of India, not much research can be found on social entrepreneurship. The researcher also found inadequate information on the complimentary role that a conventional entrepreneurial ecosystem can create to augment and support the growth of social entrepreneurships. Apart from this, a single window environment to ease the establishment of social start-ups is conspicuous by its absence. newlineThis research is an attempt to study the availability, utilization, and limitations around the concept of Social Entrepreneurship and its ecosystem in Bengaluru. The study would explore themes around social entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial ecosystem, and the process by virtue of which social enterprises could attain sustainability in the longer run. This study focuses on comprehending the interacting entrepreneurial ecosystem components; the impact that these components can make on the social enterprises; and the desirable adaptations of the components of the entrepreneurial ecosystem to facilitate the effective functioning of social enterprises in its environment. |
