Indian agriculture sector in recent years has experienced significant change from newlinetraditional to modern methods of production through conversion of agricultural technology into newlineproduction accomplishment. But this change has been confined to certain states, certain types of newlinefarmers and selected crops only, which in turn have resulted in existence of yield gaps. Presently, newlinecrop yield in India is quite low in comparison to developed countries and some of the developing newlinecountries in the world. Profitability of crops serves as an incentive for the farmers to adopt new newlinefarm technologies at a faster rate. Moreover, crop yield alone does not determine the profitability newlineof a crop; marketing of the same also plays an important role. Various research studies in the newlinecountry have revealed numerous problems faced by the farmers in marketing of their produce newlineand these studies found that not only marketing efficiency is low but also majority of the farmers newlinedid not have marketable surplus newline
