Abstract: | Heterocyclic compounds represent the largest and the most important newlinefamily of organic compounds. They are found to be the basic structural core newlineof many naturally occurring compounds. Heterocycles exhibit a varied range newlineof biological applications such as antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, newlineantioxidant, anticonvulsant, antiallergic, enzyme inhibitors, herbicidal, anti- newlineHIV, antidepressant, anticancer activities, etc. They are extremely versatile newlineclass of compounds and are extensively employed in material science as newlinesanitizers, developers, corrosion inhibitors, dyestuffs, sustaining agents, etc. newlineThis aspect has inspired many organic chemists to develop innovative newlineprotocols for the synthesis of heterocyclic molecules. One of the major newlinecurrent challenges of organic synthesis is the creation of molecular diversity newlineand complexity from simple and readily available substrates. Thus, the newlinedevelopment of processes that allow the construction of multiple bonds in a newlinesingle operation has become one of the most attractive objectives. Recently, newlineMulticomponent Reactions (MCRs) approach has become a versatile tool in newlinethe development of complex structural organic substances. In this newlinebackground, the present research has been carried out to synthesize newlineheterocyclic compounds via one-pot multicomponent reactions. newline1,2,3-triazoles are interesting heterocycles with varied range of newlinebiological and commercial applications. They exhibit potent biological newlineproperties like anticonvulsant, antimicrobial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, etc. newlineThey are also employed as agrochemicals, corrosion inhibitors and newlineantiphotoaging agents. The remarkable applications of triazoles have newlineprompted researchers to design effective protocols for its synthesis. Among newlinevarious strategies, Cu(I) catalyzed alkyne-azide cycloaddition (CuAAC) is a newlineconvenient protocol for the synthesis of 1,2,3-triazoles newline |
