Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Jeevaniya Ghana Vati in HIV positive patients. newlineBackground: India has the third largest number of HIV cases in the world. HIV infection has newlinea high prevalence and an even higher mortality rate.Due to the social stigma people are newlinehesitant to get tested for HIV thereby increasing the number of undetected cases and hence newlinecausing a rise in transmission.For the treatment of HIV use of Anti Retroviral therapy is the newlineonly option as of now.There is no any vaccine for HIV. Immunity is compromised in HIV newlinepositive individuals.Hence there is a great need to improve the immunity of such persons thus newlineprompting for research. Also, a social awareness regarding the disease needs to be created. newlineJeevaniya gana dravyas are theoretically proven drugs as Rasayan and Jeevaniya and are newlineindicated in ojas disorders. Anupan of Godugdha and goghrita too have the same qualities. newlineMethods: Patients meeting the inclusion criteria were selected for the study.35 patients in newlinetrial group and 35 patients in control group.Both the group patients were on ART.Type of newlinetrial was randomised, open, parallel assignment, control clinical trial. Trial drug Jeevaniya newlineghana vati was given to trial group in dose of 500 mg 2BD Apana kaal alongwith anupana of newlineGodugdha and goghrita.Duration of trial was 90 days.Patients were assessed on the newlineparameters of indigestion(ajeerna),abdominal heaviness (udar gaurav), hypersalivation newline(lalasraav adhikya), dislike of food(annanabhilasha), vomiting (chhardi), constipation newline(malavastambh), diarrhoea (dravamala pravrutti), fever(jwara), pulse, blood pressure,body newlineweight,CD4 cell count,Hb%,Depression,anxiety,stress. newline
