Abstract: newline The agricultural sector in India is highly non transparent in its activities due to newlinewhich the farmer is suffering every time. In this work Rice farming activities from newlinecultivation to sale of rice at whole seller/retailer are assessed using mathematical models. newlineThere is a vast difference between the minimum support price and the price paid by newlinecustomer to retailer/wholesaler. As far as rice cultivation is concerned it is the farmer who newlineis taking 100% risk and the other players like rice millers wholesalers, retailers are coming newlineinto picture only when rice is successfully cultivated. Hence an attempt is made to evaluate newlinethe risk consumed by farmers of different sizes
