Abstract: | Operations research is a branch of mathematical science which deals with the analytical methods newlinefor the problems regarding decision making. The present research work is devoted to the study of newlinedifferent methods regarding minimization of cost and time for the transportation problems. newlineFirstly, we worked on a new approach to find an initial basic feasible solution to transport the newlinecommodities under certain restrictions. Also, the solution obtained has been compared with the newlinetraditional methods in the light of cost of transportation. newlineThe time minimization Transportation Problem has been investigated for the next outcome which newlineconsists of optimal solution of a given Transportation Problem in term of time. newlineFurther, a new idea has been evolved for optimal cost of a transportation problem and the newlineobtained results of various balanced and unbalanced Transportation Problems have been newlinecompared with traditional methods. newlineAn algorithm has been developed as a new outcome in the present research work regarding the newlinecomputation of initial basic feasible solution of a problem in transportation which deals with newlinemaximum possibility to reduce the corresponding transportation cost. Also, the deviation of newlineoutcomes from the results of traditional methods as well as from the optimal solution has been newlineshown. newlineFinal result is devoted to find a new approach to obtain Optimal Solution in term of cost. newlineHere deviation values have been calculated with respect to the traditional methods and also a newlineComparison chart has been made. newline |
