Bioactive Behavior And Gamma Rays Shielding Parameters Of Phosphosilicate Glasses

Abstract

Biomaterials are the special class of materials that are used to make devices to replace newlineany part of a body. The numerous biomaterials are present i.e. metals/alloys, polymers, newlineglasses/ceramics, and composites that take the biomaterials field in another level in a newlinebiomedical field. Bioactive glasses/ceramics possess great biocompatibility along with newlineanti-corrosion, anti-compression, composition flexibility, high thermal stability, newlinetransparency, and easy fabrication. The unique feature of the Bio-glass is to make direct newlinebond with bone and surrounding tissues. These bioactive glasses of desired shapes and newlinesizes are directly implanted in human body for wide applications such as repairing of newlinedamaged, diseased and aging tissues, especially bones. So, this is an interesting to newlineunderstand the physical, structural, optical and radiation shielding features of bioactive newlineglasses.
