Scientometric analysis and mapping of scientific research articles on hirudotherapy with respect to leech therapy in skin disorders for ayurved novice research scholars from the database 1998 to 2018

Abstract

ABSTRACT: newline newlineBackground; Ayurveda as an ancient system of medicine has imparted knowledge in preventive and curative medicine. In the present scenario, when Ayurveda is totally gaining attention and importance worldwide, there is a need of quality research in Ayurveda. In Ayurveda Access to published research is very limited. A scientific review of prior published research papers will identify the safety and efficacy of intervention of Ayurveda. It gives the direction of research in the field of Ayurveda. Scholarly indexed Journals are one of the most important sources of information for scientific research communications and an important link for the advancement of science. Ayurveda novice researchers need a range of Scientometric tools to measure Leech research data. newlineMethodology; In this present study software tools for Scientometric analysis were used to perform Scientometric Analysis such as data retrieval, performance analysis, science mapping analysis and visualization. Different database has been used to retrieve the data for research articles of 20 years from1998 to 2018. All related and connected search Key words were identified for the study. A total of 1719 articles were retrieved for statistical mapping. Segregation and performance analysis of data has been done through Scientometric analysis. newlineResults; In this study, Scientometric analysis of research articles on Leech or Hirudomedicinalis from various databases will provide performance analysis of scientific actors like author, organisation, country, language, funding agency, research category contribution in the field of leech research specially in Leech Therapy in Surgery and Leech Therapy in Dermatology category. newlineConclusion; The present study discusses that Scientometrics study is a tool to design a compendium of Leech researches.
