Abstract: This research study focuses on studying the impact of emotional intelligence on factors affecting productivity, quality assurance, effective communication, decision making and most importantly on the aspect of self- awareness, social-awareness and relationship management amongst the middle level personnel employed in five different firms located in and around Chennai. Nine dimensions were chosen to establish and examine the topic under study. newlineFifteen hypotheses have been framed on the basis of review of literature and further examination of data was carried out by deploying statistical tools such as t-test, ANNOVA, Chi-Square test, Friedman test, Karl Pearson s Co-efficient of Correlationand Multiple Regression analysis, the results of the study have been validated. newlineFinding on descriptive Analysis: newlineThe Mean status on Communication aspects depict that : newlineThe manuals and procedures for clarifying Standard Operating Procedures/ performance standards provided enable solving the problems and issues arising out of ineffective communication. newlineThe mean score regarding self-discipline and self- management reveals: newlineThe executors to execute the management goals need not wait for instructions at each and every stage of work routine as well as the management empowers to take independent decisions in routine tasks assigned. newlineThe mean score regarding relationship management and conflict management gives inference that: newlineThe conflicts can be minimized by learning and understanding the concept of EI predominantly occupies the mean status. newlineThe Management believes that maintenance of good rapport /inter personnel relationships between middle and lower level employees helps to increase productivity. newlineFindings on Inferential Analysis: newlineIt is observed that with higher level of Emotional Intelligence there is an increase in productivity results in better work culture leading to better job satisfaction and commitment from the middle level personnel newlineEI is the key for better performance, the rationale behind this includes the interperso
