Abstract: Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have attracted attention of researchers across the globe due to the rapid growth in Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology. It has become possible to facilitate the design and development of sensors which are small in size, low in cost and having limited sensing and computational capabilities. These sensor nodes play a peculiar role in monitoring not only attended areas but also those hostile applications wherein getting the access to the prevailing condition was beyond the reach of the humans. These nodes are physical devices embedded with the four primary components; battery, sensor, transceiver, and micro-controller. newline
