Abstract: With the progressions of time, there has been rapid strides of technology across varied domains to which even banking sector is not devoid. In regard to Indian banking sector too, although the earlier statistics specify that in the late 1999, meagre lesser than 1 per cent was making use of online banking services in contrast to the nations like United State, Germany, Finland etc. wherein the 6-30 per cent usage has been reported. The reported statistics has been quite alike in case of Latin America. However, with the passage of time the statistics has changed definitely in regard to India as well. India is regarded to be a global leader in information technology and such technology has intrigued the Indian banking landscape as well in which RBI played an instrumental role. newline
