Abstract: | The present work features the development, characterization and plant growth augmentation of newlinenovel phosphobacterium biofertilizer developed using gum arabic rice bran waste. newlinePhosphobacterium is a combined term used for bacteria having phosphate solubilizing and newlinephosphate mineralizing activity. This research for the first time proposes the development of newlinephosphobacterium based encapsulated biofertilizer using gum arabic rice bran waste. In the newlinecurrent study, 34 bacteria (AG24, AG25, AG27, AG28, UN1, UN2, UN3, UN4, UN5, UN6, newlineUN7, UN8, UN9, UN10, UN11, UN12, UN13, UN14, UN15, UN16, UN17, UN18, UN19, newlineUN20, UN21, UN22, UN23, UN26, UN29, UN30, UN31, UN32, UN33, UN34) with newlinephosphate dissolution ability were screened from undisturbed (native areas covering native newlinegrasses and trees) and agricultural soils of Punjab, India. The screened isolates were tested for newlinewheat (Triticum aestivum) growth enhancing potential using various qualitative and newlinequantitative tests. Qualitative tests were carried out to screen the isolates for atmospheric newlinenitrogen fixation, zinc solubilization, potassium solubilization, catalase production, hydrogen newlinesulphide production, cellulase production, ACC deaminase production and protease newlineproduction. Quantitative analysis was performed to determine the synthesis of siderophore, newlineauxins, gibberellic acid and ammonia by the isolates. Plant growth promoting potential of the newlinescreened isolates was highest at incubation period of 96 h. Further, the biochemical pathway newlineunderlining the phosphate solubilizing phenotype in phosphobacterium was studied by newlinedetermining the acid phosphatases, alkaline phosphatases and phytases activity. Highest enzyme newlineactivities were observed at 96 h of incubation. newline |
