Abstract: newlineWSN marked its importance in a variety of applications. For example, military applications newlinelike target identification and intrusions detection, environmental applications like agricultural newlinefarm monitoring, Precision Agriculture, habitat monitoring in the forest, forest fire detection, newlinehealth applications like remote diagnostic systems, medication reminders as well as medical newlinedevices reminder systems. It also includes health care systems like predictive diagnostic newlinesystems, biomedical feedback control systems, and telemedicine systems. Compromise of newlinedata is unacceptable in WSN applications since they are expected to provide timely and newlinereliable information. The sensed data in WSNs must be secured. There is in need to prevent newlinethe intruder from denying the network operations and forging the sensed data. WSNs are newlinevulnerable to threats like node capture, physical tampering, eavesdropping, denial of service, newlineetc. These threats attempt to compromise few legitimate nodes in the network. In newlinecommunicating the sensed data to the sink node these threats need to avoided. A secure newlineprotocol is needed to route the data from source node to the sink node by taking account of newlinelimited resources like limited memory, processing power, communication bandwidth, and newlineespecially battery life. Target or object tracking in WSN is one of the important applications newlineset up in military surveillance and monitoring area to track the activities and avoid intruders newlinedoing misbehaviour in the network. Thus we investigate on the secure and energy-efficient newlinetarget tracking for dynamic WSN and find most of existing approaches are for static WSN, newlinenot energy-efficient and have more overhead in authenticating moving objects. We introduce newlinea secure dynamic clustering method for target tracking in energy-efficient wireless sensor newlinenetworks and compare the performance with existing ones in terms of energy-efficient, newlinenetwork overhead, and packet delivery ratio. newlineA Light-weighted key management technique is proposed for object tracking, using dynamic newlineclu
