Abstract: | 1 newlineAbstract newlineToday, a huge number of biomedical image processing and the information of the patient are being transferred to various entities who are geographically apart to be reviewed and evaluated. Any unlawful alteration of this data during transmission will lead to incorrect conclusions and misdiagnosis. Therefore, the preservation of medical pictures and patient data has always been a concern. Medical image processing and analysis methods play a key role in many clinical scenarios, including in the preparation of diagnosis and treatment. Huge amounts of data and the high complexity of the algorithms often used, however, are computationally challenging. As a result, a broad variety of medical image processing and analysis techniques now exist that enable the implementation of high-performance computing solutions to reduce the needed runtime. newlineMedical image properties similar to the computing tomography (CT), X-Ray, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), Mammography and Ultrasound (US) are the sources for large amount of digital medical images. These biomedical images are transferred from one location to another and requires ample storage space. To withstand these medical data should be securely stored and transmitted and has become a big problem. To overcome this, secured biomedical picture compressing schemes are developed for medical applications. An efficient medical image compression schemes which reduces the image size without the loss of any anatomical data required for diagnosis. Many algorithms on compression process have been developed by many authors, but still research is carried to design novel algorithms, which is efficient, fast and reduces the size without sacrificing diagnostic data. Authentication is one of the important factors and is a secure transmission mode of medical data in telemedicine applications. newlineIn this thesis, a sincere attempt is made to provide an improved quality of services to health care industry and telemedicine applications for the purpose of secure medical data transmission |
