dc.description.abstract | Recent technological advances in the field of micro- and nano-electronics have developed newlineefficient biomedical sensors available for common usage at a low cost. Reliable Wireless newlineSensor Networks (WSN) are built using these smart biomedical sensors, for continuous newlineand real time monitoring of health, to provide timely diagnosis, and remedial actions newlinefor needy people like in-house patients, elderly citizens, and soldiers serving in adverse newlineclimatic conditions, in war zones, and remote border areas. To serve this purpose effectively, three novel algorithms are developed for efficient working of the WSN. The newlinealgorithms are Balanced Clustering and Cluster Head Placement (BCCHP), Secure Data newlineAggregation using Matrix Keys, and Homomorphic Encryption-based Secure Data Aggregation. The theoretical exploration and the experimental results fully validate these newlinealgorithms. The comparative evaluations show that their performances are substantially newlinesuperior to those of similar existing algorithms. newlineIn WSN topology management, clustering is one of the most common techniques where newlinesensor nodes are organized into groups called clusters, based on criteria such as optimization of resource consumption, load balancing, redundancy removal, and efficient newlinedata aggregation. The major limitation of the existing work is the absence of intra-cluster newlineload balancing in the presence of obstacles of different shapes and sizes. The new BCCHP newlinealgorithm is developed using constrained non-linear optimization solver to take care of newlinespatial obstacles in WSNs. The algorithm provides balanced cluster formation and the newlineoptimal placement of CH for full connectivity in the presence of obstacles or restricted newlineregions. The formation of balanced clusters equalizes the intra cluster communication newlineload among the sensor nodes of each cluster. | |
