Abstract: A high-speed data transmission is in at most demand in the todayĆ¢ s age of the internet due to an increase in usage of next generation multimedia applications. Crosstalk is the major impairment for high-speed transmission due to an increase in electromagnetic coupling between the wire pairs encapsulated within a cable binder at the high operating frequency. As predicted by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU-T), there would be further increase in operating frequency band from 100 Megahertz (MHz) to 250 MHz. It is also predicted that old modem technologies are no more economical due to the increase in the frequency band of operation. Plenty of crosstalk mitigation techniques found in the literature, but these crosstalk mitigation techniques work best at the lower band of frequency. To design a system with excellent performance and low computational complexity is quite challenging at higher frequency of operation.Owing to these facts, this research work proposes novel algorithms for the design and implementation of equalizers and pre-coders for Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) and Very-high bit rate Digital Subscriber Line 2(VDSL2) systems respectively. newline
