In the power system, the linear load like an induction motor, heaters, and incandescent lamps are the components with perfect sinusoidal current and voltage. After the rapid increase in the device technology, the diode, thyristors are being highly employed and they tend to modify the industrial loads to become non-linear. These non-linear load associated to the power system distribution generates harmonics current and voltage. Harmonics (current and voltage harmonics) is the foremost reason for the distortion of load waveform, voltage fluctuation, and power quality minimization. Further, the harmonics generated by non-linear electronic loads increase the power system heat loss and probably the power bill of the end user. With the desire of maintaining the desired operations in the field of power electronics and to maintain the quality of power, it is necessary to measure the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). Hence, this research work introduces three major contributions on the same. The initial contribution of this research work deals with the maintenance of optimality in power quality by formulating proper switching strategy. As a novelty, this work uses the Genetic Algorithm (GA) for computing the optimum switching angles of a nine-level multilevel inverter. With this algorithm and sinusoidal PWM technique, the process of THD minimization is applied to the inverter s line-to-line voltage. The second contribution of this tends to explore a novel solution for voltage stability enhancement with high power output. Here, the output system voltage from the Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS) and photovoltaic panel of solar energy conversion system is fed as input to separate DC-DC converters. These DC-DC converters are controlled separately and they are connected to a common DC bus. Then, the outcome from the common DC bus is connected to the inverted, where the inversion process (DC to AC conversion) takes place. The voltage stability in the proposed voltage stability is achieved by deploying Honey Bee (HB)
