Abstract: | investigated using different Non-Newtonian Nanofluid pertains Al2O3 as nanoparticles in two different base fluid such as aqueous Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (CMC) and Sodium Alginate (SA). The current work implies that there is a significant enhancement in heat transfer between hot utility (water) and two different base fluids (CMC and SA solutions) in a plate type heat exchanger (PHE). Non-Newtonian Nanofluid was prepared using Al2O3 in the concentration range of 0.01 and 0.05 weight%. Non-Newtonian Nanofluid (cold utility) and water (hot utility) were operated in both parallel and counter current flow pattern in PHE. The thermal analysis was carried out to determine the effectiveness and cold fluid Reynolds number, at different flow rate of cold fluid (2 to 8 LPM) and different concentration of base fluid as 0.01%, 0.05% and 0.1 weight%. The result shows that effectiveness of PHE increases with increasing in the Nanofluid concentration and cold fluid flow rate, but it decreases with increase the concentration of Non-Newtonian fluid. It was found that the SA-based Nanofluid show better heat transfer enhancement compared to CMC-based Nanofluid. The parameters (n, a, b and c) in the Nusselt number correlations were estimated using the least square regression analysis with RMS value of 2.032 for CMC system and 2.58 for SA system. newlineThe performance of different controllers analysed such as PI, PID and MPC controller to regulate the temperature of cold fluid outlet to a desired setpoint. newline |
