Abstract: ABSTRACT newlineBack ground : Inadequacy of breast milk after delivery can be caused by the newlineineffective breast milk production and ejection. One way that can be done is newlineoxytocin massage to promote breast milk secretion. Purpose: The purpose of newlinecurrent study was to determine the effectiveness of oxytocin massage on newlinelactation among postpartum mothers. Materials and methods : A true newlineexperimental research with pre and post test control group was conducted in newlinethe host institution of Saveetha Medical College And Hospitals. There were newline60 postpartum mothers recruited using purposive sampling technique based newlineon the inclusion criteria by using lottery method , 30 in experimental and 30 newlinein control group .Oxytocin massage was administered for the duration of 20 newlineminutes divided in two sessions both morning and evening for about 3 newlinedays .For the control group, routine hospital care was followed. On 3rd newlinepostnatal day, the study participants were reassessed for the level of breast newlinemilk secretion by using the same breast pump. Results: The study results newlineconcluded that, the mean difference score in the experimental group was newline62.30 and the calculated t test + = 14.942 was found to be statistically newlinesignificant at plt 0.001 level which depicted clearly that , there was a newlinesignificant increases in the level of breast milk secretion after circulation of newlineoxytocin massage in experimental group of post partum mothers. newlineConclusion : oxytocin massage can be promote the production of breast milk newlineamong postpartum mothers. newlineKeywords : Breast Milk ,Lactation ,Oxytocin Massage, Postpartum Mothers. newline
