Abstract: | Self-compacting concrete provides enhanced vibration and strength newlinecapabilities when compared to traditional concrete. The elimination of the newlinedemand for heavy mechanical compaction equipment and personnel has made newlineself-compacting concrete a widespread choice for use in structural newlineapplications. The self-compacting concrete can flow readily with increased newlineworkability without segregation and bleeding. The main application of selfcompacting newlineconcrete is that it can easily fill voids between reinforcements newlinewithout being affected by external vibrations. A major advance in the newlinequantity, quality, and durability of self-compacting concrete has been newlineobtained via a lot of study work in the previous few decades that has made newlinethis concrete the most reliable one. The demand for good levels of newlinecompaction paired with proper curing indicates the quality of concrete. newlineNowadays, the absence of effective oversight and little knowledge of Indian newlinecodes have resulted in the poor quality of concrete structures. Insufficient and newlinepoor curing has also contributed to low-quality concrete construction with newlinelittle service life. So, it becomes vital to extend the longevity of concrete newlinestructures by enhancing the quality of concrete through achieving optimum newlinecompaction and suitable curing processes. With this backdrop, the present newlinestudy seeks to evaluate the properties of self-curing, self-compacting concrete newlinecomprising cement substitute and fine aggregate substitute. The study also newlineseeks to commence research on the characterization of the synergistic effect newlineof expansive and self-curing agents in self-compacting concrete. newlineThe present research work targets the creation of self-curing, selfcompacting newlineconcrete with improved strength and durability by applying newlineadmixtures such as expansion agents and material replacements for cement newlineand fine aggregates. newline |
