Abstract: In Wireless Sensor Networks most of the existing techniques in target tracking and localization have increased the latency and complexity In addition the secure localization is very much essential for enhancing the accuracy of localization and robustness against the security threats The security approach is not utilized towards localization mechanism that may affect the secure communication of the data Energy consumption accuracy and security are the main challenges involved in tracking The main objective of this research work is to overcome these issues by designing Ant based Target Tracking and Localization Technique Secure Authentication Technique for Localization and Ant Based Compression and Sleep newlineScheduling Technique for Target Tracking for Wireless Sensor Networks The proposed target tracking and localization technique depends on the Ant Colony Optimization using anchor nodes Initially a set of anchor nodes are deployed using the distance between the nodes The Ant based routing protocol is used to find the best route with the shortest hop distance by acquiring the proximity information between every pair of anchor nodes When a sensor node detects the target the localization process is carried out using the anchor nodes and the position of the target is tracked using Ant agents and the gathered information is transmitted to the sink This approach reduces the latency in detecting the anchor nodes and also reduces the total number of anchor nodes to be deployed In the proposed secure authentication technique for localization the sensor node position is initially estimated using proximity distance map After estimating the positions of normal sensor nodes the anchor nodes compute a location based key pair for each node Then it creates a hash and encrypts this key pair and sends it to each sensor nodes On receiving it each sensor in turn can decrypt and authenticate the message Then mutual authentication of neighbor nodes is performed based on location information The proposed ant based compression and sleep scheduling technique is proposed In this approach initially the information of the nodes are localized and tracked through ACO technique After the localization process the data which has to be transmitted to the destination node is compressed in order to make the network newlinemore efficient A sensor node activation mechanism is developed where the sensor newlinenodes are turned into sleep mode for a specific time interval Simulation results show that the proposed techniques reduce delay energy consumption latency in detecting the anchor nodes and the total number of anchor nodes to be deployed with increased packet delivery ratio and security newline
