Abstract: It is a well-known fact that physical activity has a positive impact upon human newlinebehaviour which consists of several psychological and social factors. newlineIn primitive societies, there were no systematised programmes, though physical newlineactivity was a part of culture and regular schedule to fulfil the survival need. newlineModernisation of culture has transported the need for a planned physical activity newlineprogramme. In India the kings received early education in Gurkulas - the personal schools newlineof eminent sages - where they were thoroughly instructed in ethics, yoga, principles of newlineadministration, battle craft, health, fitness, sport etc. Yoga, one of the most prominent newlinesystems of Indian philosophy, is very effective for developing an integrated person. newline
