Abstract: | Martial arts are codified systems and traditions of combat practices, which are newlinepracticed for a variety of reasons: self-defense, competition, physical health and newlinefitness, entertainment, as well as mental, physical, and spiritual development. Martial newlineart training for women or girls is a burning issue in the present Indian society. The newlineterm martial art is derived from Latin, and means quotarts of Marsquot, the Roman god of newlinewar. The South East Asian countries like China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Hongkong newlineetc. are generally considered as the pioneers of Martial Art. According to history newlineChinese martial art originated during the Xia Dynasty more than 4000 years ago. The newlinemid to late 19th century marks the beginning of the history of martial arts as modern newlinesports developed out of earlier traditional fighting systems. In Europe, this concerns newlinethe developments of boxing and fencing as sports. In Japan, the same period marks newlinethe formation of the modern forms of judo, jujutsu, karate, and kendo. It is also newlinebelieved by experts that the foundation of modern Asian martial arts is likely a blend newlineof early Chinese and Indian martial arts. newline |
