dc.description.abstract | Opportunistic networks a new paradigm emerges after the great advancement of wireless newlinetechnology and MANETs (Mobile Ad-hoc Networks). The approach to provide newlinecommunication in heterogeneous network with distinct communication technologies is newlineknown as Opportunistic Network (OppNet). Store-Carry-forward phenomena is used to newlineroute the messages in Opportunistic network; therefore, it is called delay tolerant network newline(DTNs). Performance evaluation of OppNet is done by the simulation of routing protocols. newlineThis network is such a heterogeneous flexible wireless network that works in hurricane newlineaffected regions and volcanoes environment. This network is consisting of wireless nodes, newlinewhich follow the Bluetooth transmission range between nodes. These kinds of networks newlineare capable to handle long delay during transmission of messages. Delay Tolerant Network newline(DTN) is the mechanism to resolve technical problems in intermittently connected newlineopportunistic network and sparse networks. DTN is the set of protocols introduced by newlineDelay and Disruption Tolerant Networking Research Group (DDTNRG). newlineRouting of messages in DTN is a major challenge due to its high level of mobility of nodes, newlineno end-to-end connection from source to destination and having no fixed infrastructure for newlinenodes. Due to discontinuous connections, lower bandwidth, and arbitrary nature of newlineOppNet, establishing a new protocol for OppNet routing is a primary challenge. newlineIn this thesis first, preliminary architecture for Opportunistic Network routing is described, newlineand then different categories of routing protocol available in networks are explained. Tools newlineavailable for wireless network are compared. Distinct classes of routing protocols and tools ... newline | |
