dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this survey research was to examine the effects of job stressors on newlineemployee performance and how these relationships are moderated by emotional newlineintelligence. Data were collected from bank employees by using stratified simple random newlinesampling. For data analysis a two-step approach for structural equation modeling was newlineused. First, confirmatory factor analysis was performed to determine the validity and newlinereliability of the measurement model. Then, the causal relationships among variables and newlinethe moderating effect of emotional intelligence were examined using structural equation newlinemodeling. The results revealed that challenge stressors have significant and positive newlineeffect on task and contextual performance. Furthermore, challenge stressors have newlinesignificant and negative effect on counterproductive work behaviour. On the other hand, newlinehindrance stressors have significant and negative effect on task performance. However, newlinehindrance stressors have no significant effect on contextual performance and newlinecounterproductive work behaviour. Emotional intelligence has a positive and significant newlineeffect on task and contextual performance. Moreover, emotional intelligence moderates newlinethe positive relationship between challenge stressors and task performance. The results newlinealso revealed that emotional intelligence moderates the negative relationship between newlinehindrance stressors and task performance. newline | |
