Abstract: Cloud computing is the provider of computing services ranging from applications to storage, infrastructure and processing power usually over the internet. In present computing world, cloud computing is an emerging concept in distributed computing that provides computing facilities, development platform, and applications as services. Cloud computing means IT outsourcing ; others describes the cloud computing as any computing service provided over the internet or a similar network. newlineIt is better for the enterprises to access anything from applications to storage from a cloud service provider on rent than possessing their own computing infrastructure or data centres. So that enterprises can stay away from the direct cost and difficulty of maintaining their own IT infrastructure, and the enterprises simply use the services and pay rent for what they use. Cloud computing is an emerging technology in Information Technology environments equipped with massive infrastructure and resources. There are situations in which several requests could be made to a single server and the server gets overloaded. But there are servers which sit idle or under loaded. The situation leads to poor response time and throughput. In addition, the overloaded server faces high overhead to workout massive requests and it may lead to server crash. The under loaded and idle servers lead to poor resource utilization. In both cases, the enterprise loses the revenue. So the enterprises badly need a mechanism to evenly distribute the workload among all servers. Load balancing is such a mechanism that reduces the overhead of the overloaded servers by redirecting some tasks to under loaded or idle servers newline
