Abstract: In this thesis, energy efficient routing techniques are proposed for newlinevarious structures of wireless sensor networks. Wireless sensor network newlineorganizes sensors for exchange of data and it can be in different types of newlineorganizations such as flat, hierarchical, homogeneous, heterogeneous etc. newlineSensors are provided with constrained battery and memory capacity. Energy newlineconsumption is one of the crucial issues in Wireless Sensor Network. In order newlineto minimize this energy consumption, trust-aware, cluster-based, optimized newlineand energy efficient routing techniques have been proposed for different newlineconfigurations of network. The main advantages of all these techniques are newlinethat they reduce energy consumption and increase the system lifetime newlineeffectively. In this study, three routing techniques namely a trust aware newlinerouting technique for flat structured WSN, a cluster based routing technique newlinefor hierarchical WSN, and a hybrid optimization routing technique for all newlinetypes of homogeneous WSN are presented. newlineFirst, a trust aware energy balanced routing technique namely Trust newlineBased Energy Balanced Routing (TBEBR) is introduced for flat structured newlineWSN to balance the energy among the sensors. In this algorithm, a proper newlinepath is selected with short distance that can minimize energy consumption newlineand improve the network lifetime. Additionally, this technique also enhances newlinethe security level by implementing trust values of the sensors. In this TBEBR newlinealgorithm, a probability of selecting a next-hop node is based on Reliability newlineMeasure (RM) of a node. This RM is formed with the factors namely residual newlineenergy, trust values, number of neighbors and distance to the destination. newlineInitially Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) optimization technique is newlineutilized to form a minimized energy consuming WSN model with resource newlineconstraints newline
