dc.description.abstract | it is all four carbon atoms lying on the same plane. It is high pKa newlinevalue indicates that squarate dianion was stabilized by resonance structure. newlineThe delocalized structure proposes the aromatic nature of the squarate ion. newlineSquaric acid is a versatile ligand to form a variety of complexes with newlinedifferent metals. It binds to a metal atom in different modes like newlinemonodentate, bidentate, tetradentate, bismonodentate, tetrakis-monodentate, newlinechelating and bis chelating, and#956;-1, 3 and and#956;-1, 2 modes. The coordination newlinechemistry of squaric acid is of particular interest because of the different newlineways in which squaric acid may be bonded to the central metal atom. Squaric newlineacid, substituted squaric acid, and its derivatives are widely used in the newlinepreparation of bioactive compounds. Aromatic carboxylates show a variety of newlinecoordination modes and chelate effectively to the metal ion through anionic newlinecarboxylate groups. Benzene and substituted benzene carboxylic acids have newlinebeen tested against bacteria, fungi, and cancer cell lines. Hydrazine can form newlineN2H5 newline+ (mono positive hydrazinium ion) and N2H5 newline2+ (dipositive hydrazinium newlineion) with monobasic acid. It has been used as a monodentate or bidentate newlineligand due to the lone pair of electrons present in the nitrogen atoms. newlineIn this work, squaric acid and 4-chlorobenzoic acid were chosen newlineas ligands for the preparation of alkaline earth metal complexes and transition newlinemetal complexes. newline | |
