Abstract: | In the present scenario, more processing ability and high speed are achievable for all types of equipment using the latest technology. The problem in the modern-day equipment is the inefficiency in the cooling system. More steps are being taken by many researchers to decrease the gap by improving the efficiency of the cooling systems. Two-phase processes dependent heat removal system is the best suitable for the performance and safety of the heat transfer equipment. Critical heat flux and heat transfer coefficient are considered as the primary characteristics of the pool boiling process. New ideas are being developed and employed to enhance those two factors related to pool boiling process. However, this can be obtained by incorporating different fluids, altering the properties of fluids, boiling conditions and modifying surfaces. newlineThe present work mainly aims to enhance critical heat flux and heat transfer coefficient by changing the surface characteristics. The nanoscale modification on the heat transfer surface affects the surface roughness and surface wettability. These two parameters associated with nanoscale surface modification decide the performance of the pool boiling systems. The boiling performance is being affected by the bubble formation, bubble coalescence and bubble detachment on the boiling surface. Based on these assumptions, this paper investigated the boiling performance on the thin film coated copper surfaces. newline |
