A Comparative Study Based On Taekwondo Knowledge between Male and Female Taekwondo Players of North Regions of Maharashtra

Abstract

The present research explores knowledge between male and female taekwondo players of North Regions of Maharashtra. The purpose of this study was to compare male and female Taekwondo players on their levels of knowledge about Taekwondo game. Total numbers of 200 taekwondo players were selected as the samples for the study from the different taekwondo clubs of North Regions of Maharashtra. In which 115 were male and 85 female. It was descriptive survey. For the data collection the teacher made questionnaire was used. There were 30 knowledge-based questions on taekwondo game history, technique, terminology, methods and General knowledge in the questionnaire with multiple choice answers. Descriptive statistics and Pearson s Chi-square test was used as a statistical tool. Results shows, Overall Taekwondo Knowledge of male and female players is found different (p= 0.001), similarly, overall taekwondo Knowledge of male and female players of having 0 to 5 years of experience is found significantly different (p= 0.005). The age-wise gender differences did not show significant difference. It is concluded that the taekwondo knowledge of male and female taekwondo players is different. In the knowledge test, we observe that male taekwondo players got good results as compared to female taekwondo players. newlineKeywords: Taekwondo, Knowledge, North Maharashtra, players newline
