Abstract: This thesis investigates the question of awareness and usage of nutrition label. newlineThe first chapter is an overview of the problems addressed in the dissertation and it introduction. It also discusses the economic burden of Non-communicable disease (NCDs) and the role of nutrition labels in reducing NCDs. Second chapter consists of a review of current and past literature related to the objectives of this thesis. Third chapter elaborates on the research method applied in the thesis. It describes the research objective, sampling method, and questionnaire used for the survey at Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, and Rajkot. It also described the sampling method along with data analysis methods. Fourth Chapter presents data analysis in detail. It describes the respondents demographic profile, awareness, and usage of the nutrition label. It explains the analysis of consumer demographics with the help of frequency and cross-tabulation. Test of two proportions and odd ratios have been used to determine if a difference exists between the binomial proportions of two independent groups on a dichotomous dependent variable. Fifth chapter presents the findings derived from data analysis, which have been performed using various analytical tools. The findings have been classified into six different sections.Chapter 6 and Chapter 7 discussed managerial implications derived from the research and summarize the thesis. The research found that awareness towards nutrition labels is there among the consumers, but the usage of the same is required. The food product Manufacturer and Government can work together to motivate consumers to use nutrition labels. The usage of nutrition labels is beneficial to all three parties, i.e., food product Manufacturer, Government, and Consumers. newline newline
