Abstract: | With the development of technology in wireless communication, hardware optimizations, newlineembedded system plays an important role in day-to-day life of the human beings. Embedded newlinesystem as an ecosystem is directly connected to the life of human beings in terms of IOT, newlinetelecommunication, handheld devices, medical equipment s, aerospace, mobiles etc. newlineConsidering these aspects there are many places where battery enabled devices plays an newlineimportant role where you must depend on portable devices in your day-to-day life. newlineBattery enabled embedded devices are the area of interest in this thesis. When we talk about newlinebattery, power consumption is the main interest and all industries. It is the area where all newlineinnovations being done. This thesis covers the literature survey done on the multimedia newlineprocessing in embedded systems and how is the power utilization done in image processing, newlinevideo, and audio processing. Literature survey and the real time metrics provided with newlinestatistics are measured using multiple reference hardware platforms like raspberry-pi, newlineAdriano, Parallella devices. This also includes the power measurement, power management newlineand the power saving techniques. newlinePower management can be accomplished at various dimensions of embedded system. At newlinechip level, smaller scale engineering level, application level and framework level. The newlinestrategies are gone for diminishing the power (energy) consumption at a framework level. newlineOptimal power management is a power optimization technique used in software architecture newlineusing reference hardware platforms. Real time scheduling algorithm has been preferred to newlineachieve the expected energy saving in this thesis. Study of power management methods newlineutilized includes Systems like frequency scaling, clock gating and sleep mode. newline |
