Abstract: | Brick is a most important and major building construction material used throughout the world which creates uneven distribution of load coming from the structure when not properly designed and handled. The process of casting requires either burning or compaction or stabilization or combined with other. Brick construction practice has shown that for off-site casting, burning and compaction is not always carried out effectively when avoiding cutting trees and compaction machines. It leads to produce high energy efficient products. Stabilized Mud Block (SMB) can be placed and casting without burning and compacting. SMB is used to facilitate and ensure proper strengthening by using Supplementary Cementing Materials (SCM), soil and stabilizer. newlineFibre Reinforced Stabilized Mud Block (FRSMB) is a high-performance building brick that combines positive aspects of fresh properties of SMB with improved characteristics of hardened block as a result of fibre addition. In recent decades, environmental considerations have become a major concern and efforts to reuse waste materials have been undertaken. The main aim of sustainable development is to reduce the usage of natural resources by proper reusing and recycling. newlineIn India, the state of Tamil Nadu alone produces more quantity of Fly Ash, Steel slag, and Quarry Dust which industrial wastes from thermal power plants, steel industry and quarrying. This process results in a mixture of water and fine particles which affect drying becomes a potential problem to the environment. This powder initiates health problems in that locality. It needs proper disposal methods. newline |
