Abstract: | Several prospective candidate genes in a variety of biological pathways have been linked newlinewith longevity in humans and in model organisms (Drosophila melanogaster and newlineCaenorhabditis elegans). One of the candidate genes for longevity is the FOXO3 gene is best newlinefar studied. The Forkhead box O3 (FOXO3) gene is a member of the Forkhead box O3 newlinetranscription factors family. The FOXO3 gene encodes an evolutionary conserved key newlineregulatory of the Insulin Growth Factor 1 signaling pathway that is known to influence newlinemetabolism and lifespan in humans. A FOXO3 gene variant rs2253310 has recently been newlinereported to be linked to human longevity in Japan, German, Hans Chinese, and the Italian newlinepopulation. In the present study, we examined whether genetic variants in the FOXO3 gene newlineare associated with longevity in the eastern Indian population. For this study, three groups newlinehealthy octogenarians (gt80 years), disease group hypertension (4 were hypertension with newlinecoronary artery disease) with likely to decrease lifespan (60-79 years), and healthy young newlineindividuals (21-30 years) were analyzed for gene and protein variations. The present study newlinewas planned with the following objectives taken were: newline |
