Preparation and characterization of polyherbal phytosomal formulations with hepatoprotective action

Abstract

The present thesis entitled Preparation and characterization of polyherbal newlinephytosomal formulations with hepatoprotective action . Andrographis paniculata newline(stems and leaves); Tinospora cordifolia (roots) and Rhapnus sativus (leaves and newlinetaproots) have been collected from the University Institute of Pharmaceutical newlineSciences, Chandigarh and from local market of Chandigarh. The plants were newlineauthenticated and identified by Dr. Alok K Gupta Scientist in NIPER, Mohali; newlinewith voucher number NIP-H 001, NIP-H 002, NIP-H 003.Results and discussion: newlineThe phytochemical and pharmacognostical evaluation of all plants were performed. newlineThe studies revealed the presence of calcium oxalate crystals, vascular bundles newlineare 5-7 in number and are collateral, open, and leaf possessed extended glands newlinenearby in the subordinate side, stomata is anomocytic. In stem, variations in newlinenature of epidermis, cortex and cell contents in different region. Tinospora newlinecordifolia cuticle is thin layer. Both sides of T. cordifolia is angular. The palisade newlinetissue is single and thin walled with columnar cells. The glands and trichomes are newlineelongated. Stomata is anomocytic. newline
