Abstract: newline Maximum Power Point Tracking(MPPT) is a significant aspect of a newlinephotovoltaic(PV) system for efficient power extraction. So far, many MPPT newlinealgorithms and their implementations have been simulated and newlineexperimentally tested. However, the most widely used MPPT algorithms are newlinestill Perturb and Observe (PandO) and Incremental Conductance (Inc-Con) newlinealgorithms, owing to their ease of implementation. Nevertheless, to utilize the newlineeffects of these algorithms on the PV systems, their implementations need to newlinebe done in digital controllers. So far, conventional implementation of these newlinealgorithms in microcontrollers, digital signal processors (DSPs) and Field newlineprogrammable gate arrays (FPGAs) have resulted in tracking speeds in the newlineorder of few hundreds and tens of milliseconds. In this work, an improvement newlinein tracking speeds of MPP to the order of microseconds and sub-milliseconds is newlineachieved, by utilizing statecharts for MPPT control of PV system. newline
