Abstract: | No Fines Concrete, also termed as Pervious Concrete is an emerging newlinesolution for the effects caused by the construction of impervious layer over the newlineEarth s surface due to continuous urbanization. The usage of conventional newlineconcrete pavement provides insulation for the earth and resists the moisture and newlinethermal conductivity which leads to an imbalance of the ecosystem, and causes newlinenatural disasters such as floods, soil erosion, global warming and groundwater newlinedepletion. To mitigate this imbalance, pervious pavements have been tried. This newlinekind of concrete is used for the construction of parking lots, residential streets, newlinesidewalks, and pathways in the apartment, etc., where the load concentration is newlineconsiderably low. Other than this it can also be used for controlling landslide in newlinehilly areas and used as non-structural wall panels in precast buildings. newlineNo Fines Concrete (NFC) is an extremely sustainable, environmental newlinefriendly material that creates an open cell structure due to the absence of fine newlineaggregates which allows permeability in it. NFC is produced by mixing newlineordinary Portland cement, coarse aggregates, water, without fine aggregates and newlinewith or without some admixtures and additives. NFC is a highly recommended newlineflooring concrete that drains runoff water directly to the ground, thereby newlinesupports recharging of existing groundwater level. Its development has been newlinegradually increasing over the years newline |
