Abstract: Magnesium alloys are lightest materials with various desirable newlineproperties such as low density, high specific strength, high wettability, newlinemachinability and damping characteristics. Moreover, these alloys are newlinenon-magnetic, have high conductivity in heat and electricity and strong newlinecapacity to vibrate and absorb shock. In the aerospace, electrical and newlineautomotive industries, magnesium alloys are thus found in many applications newlineas structural materials. But the poor corrosion resistance is one of the newlinedrawbacks restricting the applications. Therefore improving the corrosion newlinebehavior of magnesium alloys is highly essential for their future usage. newline
