Abstract: | The field experiment was conducted to study the Effect of integrated nutrient newlinemanagement practices and irrigation scheduling on sunflower-chickpea cropping sequence newlineand soil properties in a Vertisol of Malaprabha Command Area, Karnataka at Irrigation newlineWater Management Research Centre (IWMRC) Belavatgi, Navalgund, Dharwad district newlineduring 2016-17 and 2017-18. The experiment was laid in split plot design with irrigation newlinescheduling as main plots and nutrient management practices as subplots with three newlinereplications. newlineThe application of RPP (90 N: 90 P2O5 : 60 K2O : 10 kg ZnSO4 ha-1 + 0.5 % Borax + newlineFYM at 8 t ha-1 + Azospirillum at 500 g ha-1) + PSB (500 g ha-1) + GM (one row sunhemp newlinebetween two rows of sunflower) and 0.8 IW/CPE irrigation scheduling in sunflower during newlinekharif season (pooled data) has recorded significantly higher growth parameters, seed and newlinestalk yield (18.28 and 41.57 q ha-1, respectively), oil yield (764.88 kg ha-1), net returns (26339 newlineha-1) and B:C ratio (1.70) under a Vertisol of Malaprabha Command Area. However, higher newlinewater use efficiency (6.64 kg ha - mm-1) was observed in application of 0.6 IW/CPE ratio newlineirrigation and application of RPP+ PSB+ GM. newlineIrrigation scheduling at 0.6 IW/CPE and residual management of 100 per cent RPP + newlinePSB + GM in chickpea crop during rabi season has performed better with respect to growth newlineparameters, seed and haulm yield (16.83 and 17.24 q ha-1, respectively), higher uptake of newlinenutrients, WUE (5.61 kg ha - mm-1), net returns (37878 ha-1) and B:C ratio (2.59). newlineThe integrated nutrient management practice has improved soil physical properties, newlineavailable macro and micronutrients content of soil. However, higher enzyme activity newline(dehydrogenase, phosphatase and urease enzyme) was observed in 0.8 IW/CPE irrigation newlinescheduling and application of RPP + PSB + GM at flowering stage in sunflower. newline |
