Abstract: The choice of material is an important process to enhance the employability of products for diverse applications. In this era, man-made fibers like Kevlar, glass and carbon are dominating in all dimensions. The major drawbacks of these synthetic fibers are high cost, maximized processing technique, not being eco-friendly, and being human hazardous. Alternatively, the natural fibers reinforced polymeric composites are having the potential to compete with man-made fiber. The feasibility study of utilizing the most available natural fibers for industrial applications was carried out and was proven to be the best alternative for man-made fibers. The selection of natural fibers is mainly based on the availability, compatibility and sustainability and an elaborate study was carried out to identify the most suitable natural fiber for automotive study, the experimental result reveals that the banana and jute natural fibers were found to be potentially one among others. The properties of fiber-reinforced composites mainly depend on the binding ability between constituents and it could be improved by modifying the surface of the fibers. In addition to this, the manufacturing process of fiber composites also plays an important role in deciding the properties of the composites. Also, a complete understanding of tribology science is necessary if the reliability of every machine part and device is to be improved. Wear and friction losses are expected to be 63 percent of the entire cost of industries worldwide. It marks the material tribology as a crucial parameter in the design of the mechanical components. newline
