Abstract: | The overuse of antibiotics and their side effects, the toxicity of antineoplastic drugs, and the need for proper wound care management to control infections caused by microorganisms and secondary complications have demanded alternative drugs with improved efficacy compared to the existing ones. In this regard, nanotechnology has shown promising results in the medical arena field because of its unique physicochemical properties and enhanced effectiveness. In particular, nanoparticles are gaining increasing attention in biomedical applications due to biological versatility, smaller size, higher cell penetrability, and selectivity towards cancerous cells. In the present investigation, nanoparticles such as metallic, metallic oxide and non-metallic nanoparticles were synthesized employing chemogenic and biogenic routes. Synthesized nanoparticles were evaluated for toxicological and pharmacological activities such as wound healing, anticancer and antimicrobial activity. The key objective of the present work is to optimize various pharmacological activities of silver, zinc oxide and sulphur nanoparticles synthesized by biogenic and chemogenic approaches. It also includes comparative biological activities and optimization of synthesis methods to achieve enhanced pharmacological activities of the synthesized nanoparticles. newline |
