dc.description.abstract | The Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs) are newlinepreferred in wide range of applications due to high efficiency, high power newlinedensity and low electrical losses. PMSM exhibits better operating newlinecharacteristics which makes them to use in the specific applications which newlinerequires high torque and good dynamic response. Torque ripples are the main newlinedrawback of PMSM. Output torque of a PMSM is directly related to the newlinephase currents and the ripples present in the phase currents are referred as newlinetorque ripples. To achieve torque ripple minimization, many control methods newlineand machine design techniques are adapted. Among new control schemes, newlinepredictive control appears to be a very interesting alternative for the control newlineof PMSM. newlineThis research aims to design a suitable predictive controller for newlinea PMSM operating with reduced Torque ripples and delay time. newlineThe traditional Field Oriented Control (FOC) algorithm, Model Predictive newlineControl (MPC) and Deadbeat Predictive Control (DBPC) for PMSM are newlinechosen to perform a complete analysis of torque ripple reduction and delay newlinecompensation. The main idea to be used in FOC is the proper coordinate newlinesystem that allows decoupled control over the electrical torque and the newlinemagnitude of the rotor flux. This is achieved by aligning the coordinate newlinesystem with the rotor flux for 2kW PMSM. The current controller in the FOC newlineis the Proportional Integral (PI) with Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) newlinecontroller and provided to achieve the torque ripple reduction in an newlineacceptable value. The performance of FOC is shown as the THD values of newline11.81%, 16.41% and 21.82% for 100%, 50% and 25% of rated torque newline | |
