Abstract: As the world s conventional sources of energy are dwindling fast with a corresponding rise in cost, the renewable energy sources such as wind energy and solar energy offer a promising alternative. The focus of this study is to explore the control strategies for enhanced extraction and effective utilization of the hybrid renewable energy system. The proposals are briefly outlined below. Among various renewable energy sources, solar and wind are widely used. Stand-alone renewable energy system with single source, either wind generator or photovoltaic (PV), is highly unpredictable due to its intermittent nature. So, hybrid schemes combine more than two renewable energy sources and these combinations are considered to be highly reliable due to their complementary nature of the resources. newlineThis work focused on implementation of a different Maximum Power Point Technique (MPPT) algorithm into a Non-Inverting Buck Boost (NIBB) Converter designed to photovoltaic systems. Selection of suitable step size of duty cycle is very essential so as to attain the satisfactory response in time domain techniques such as Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC), Incremental Conductance (INC) and Perturb and Observe (PandO) which have been studied, analyzed and simulated. From simulation results, it is revealed that FLC achieves adaptive tracking without steady state oscillations. Further experimental verification using PIC microcontroller has been carried out to prove the validity of the proposed technique newline
