Abstract: Wireless Multimedia Communication (WMC) is an emerging newlineservice that integrates voice, video, and data in the same service. The newlinewireless handheld device used to provide multimedia communication newlinesuch as PDA, Sensor, Mobile phones etc., are resource constrained and newlineneed security protocol for successful multimedia communication newlinebetween server and user. Many researchers are put their effort to newlinedevelop secure cryptography algorithms and protocol to allow the user newlineto access the data securely in telemedicine, surveillance system, and newlinevideo on demand, digital cash, online shopping, digital content delivery newlineand video conferencing technology. The research work focuses on newlinesecurity analysis of different encryption algorithm, secure architecture, newlineencoding algorithm, authentication protocol and video encoding method. newlineIt also discusses about security multimedia challenges, characteristics, newlinemultimedia services, different attacks, software information and newlineforecasts future perspectives of wireless multimedia technology. newlineTransmission of digital images for wireless multimedia newlinecommunication system requires reliable security in storage, which is a newlinechallenging task. Many traditional symmetric key cryptographic newlinealgorithm such as Data Encryption Standard (DES),Advanced newlineEncryption Standard (AES), Triple-DES,Two-fish,Blow-fish,RC5 newlinealgorithm available and played a major role to transmit and receive the newlinemultimedia (text, image and video) data. Our research work mainly newlinefocus on encryption algorithm for wireless multimedia communication newlinesystem, which employs the features of DNA computing technique and newlineElliptic Curve Cryptography. Proposed Hybrid DNA computing based newlineix newlineauthentication algorithm provides secure transmission of multimedia newlinedata by using asymmetric key cryptography techniques. Hybrid DNA newlinecomputing techniques provides higher level of security and enables the newlineuser to store large amount of data. It also improves the security level by newlineincorporate the advantage of DNA cryptography to achieve the highlevel newlinesecurity against various attacks.
