Abstract: | A mobile ad hoc network is a self-configuring network of mobile routers connected by wireless links, the combination of which generates a random topology. A MANET does not require costly base stations or connected infrastructure. However, this infrastructure is critical for efficient application in a wide range of contexts. Disposable sensors and battlefield communications, for example, are dropped from high altitude and separated on the ground to detect dangerous items. The secure ad hoc routing problem has received a lot of attention, and some secure routing techniques have been proposed in the literature. They secure routing messages using various cryptographic primitives, resulting in a continuous and nontrivial routing overhead in terms of both communication and computation. This thesis investigates a critical security issue in wireless mobile ad hoc networks. The investigation is shown to branch out into three types of studies. newlineThe first study looks at how the ETUS routing protocol behaves in the presence of various sorts of generic attacks. The suggested system has done simulation experiments to evaluate the performance improvement of the Generic ETUS over ETUS routing protocol. In this study, tests were conducted utilizing the AODV protocol and a modified AODV protocol known as Generic ETUS. The simulation findings demonstrate that the Generic ETUS routing protocol greatly enhances the performance of the ETUS routing protocol as compared to the standard plain AODV protocol, with just nominal overheads. newline newline |
