Abstract: | The concepts and practices of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) are continuing to gain newlineconsiderable attention from business leaders, government officials and academics. The newlinetraditional role of governments as the main body responsible for improving the living newlineconditions of society has become less viable with the increased demands on public resources; newlineplacing more emphasis on the role of business in society and increasing the role of CSR. newlineMore recently, it has been argued that a purposeful engagement of corporations in societal newlineaffairs through an active contribution to capacity building is crucial for the progress of newlinedeveloping nations and CSR could be a vehicle for development through public-private newlinepartnerships. The traditional role of governments as the main body responsible for improving newlinethe living conditions of the society has become less viable with the increased demands on newlinepublic resources; placing more emphasis on the role of business in society and increasing the newlinerole of CSR. Therefore, CSR is now an important factor in the corporate decision making newlineagenda, where many companies are considering how to improve their relationship with newlinecustomers, the community and the environment, while ensuring their business is successful. newlineCompanies bill 2013 in which companies are mandatory to spend at least 2% of net profit in newlinecorporate social profit indicates that the governments also promote the corporate social newlineresponsibility activities for the government or private company to more involve in social and newlinecommunity development like health, education, skill development, rural development. One newlinething need to be kept while companies start pursuing the CSR activities that these activities newlineshould be bounded with ethical values of not only company but also of the society in which newlinethey are operation.
