Ever since the bronze age, permanent fastening of materials newlinehas always been considered a good technique in mechanical engineering newlinefield and it has now attained a gradual enhancement to get defect free newlinejoint and environment friendly machines. The continuous drive solid newlinestate rotary friction welding machine capable of producing defect free newlinejoint and emissions is almost nil. The same and different materials can newlinebe fastened by a friction welding method in an economical way. This newlineprocess is mainly used in applications like Automotive, Aircraft, Heat newlineexchangers and Nuclear reactors. Grain growth, high heat affected zone, newlinecarbide precipitation, porosity, poor penetration, poor fusion and newlinethermal distortion are the major problems usually linked with fusion newlinewelding and are alleviated in the solid state joining technique. The solid newlinestate friction welding process produces the homogeneous microstructure newlinewhereas the fusion welding produces the heterogeneous microstructure. newlineThe superior mechanical properties obtained in friction welded joint are newlinecompared with other welding techniques. The heat input required for newlinesolid state rotary friction welding is lesser than that of other fusion newlinewelding techniques. newlineIn this research work, AISI 430 Ferritic Stainless Steel and newlineEN 10028P 355 GH Normalized Steel round bars of 12 mm diameter newlineare joined by friction welding with an objective to bring down Axial newlineShortening and improve Tensile Strength, Impact toughness of the joint. newlineThe selected materials find extensive applications in heat exchanger newlinevi newlinetubes, pump shaft, boilers and pressure vessels. The frictional pressure, newlineaxial pressure, frictional time, upset time and speed of rotation are the newlineinput factors with three levels each that have been considered for this newlinework. The experiment involves an L27 Orthogonal Array. newlineThe mathematical equations are developed with five input newlinefactors and three levels each to establish association between input newlinefactors and output quality Characteristics by Artificial Intelligence (AI) newlinetool fuzzy logic analysis
