Abstract: | In recent decades, automation and modernization inhabit a vital role newlinein the electric power industry. In a smart transmission power grid, reliable and newlinecost-efficient communication architecture plays a crucial role in achieving newlinecomplete functionality. Today s technology development enhances the vision newlineof monitoring and control in the modern power industry. Rapid growing newlinepower demand requirement forces to introduce most up-to-date network newlinedesigns and monitoring technologies in the transmission and distribution newlinesectors. To guard the safety of power transmission, a well-designed newlinemonitoring system is necessary to check the physical condition of the lines, newlinewhich are set up in the harsh geographical environment with the bad weather. newlineOne of the significant developments in the smart transmission power newlinegrid is the injection of IoTs (Internet of things). The ubiquitous connectivity newlineand distributed intelligence of the IoTs with wireless sensing technology are newlinebecoming the centre point of upbeat remote monitoring and control. In this newlinerespect, real-time sensors are installed in the power transmission towers newlinewhich instantaneously sense, measure, and transmit the information wirelessly newlineto the data processing centre for further processing and decisions. newlineA combination of multiple wireless technologies with contemporary newlinedata analysis techniques is applied to reduce the complexity of data retrieval newlinefrom the transmission system. However, during the transmission of data, low newlinedata rate, and low power wireless devices cause bandwidth and latency newlinebottleneck when considering the topology of the transmission line network. newlineThis problem can be reduced to a certain level by optimally placing the direct newlinecellular communication modules in the preferred transmission towers newline |
